Hier kommt zusammen, was zusammen gehört – Comics & Rap: Der US-amerikanischer Comicverlag Marvel interpretiert eine ganze Rutsche klassischer und aktueller Cover von Hip Hop-Alben neu. In absolut dopen Illustrationen schicken die Comic-Spezialisten aus New York, ihre Superhelden wie Spiderman, X-Men, Captain America & Co auf diverse Cover bekannter Rap/Hip Hop-Alben von Artists wie Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious B.I.G., Ol‘ Dirty Bastard, A Tribe Called Quest, A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent, De La Soul, Dr. Dre oder Eric B. & Rakim. Marvel Chef-Editor Axel Alonso äußerte sich dazu folgendermaßen: „For years, Marvel Comics and hip-hop culture have been engaged in an ongoing Dialoge, beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces.“ Über 50 Artworks sind dem Vernehmen nach bereits in Planung. Marvel Comics is paying homage to hip-hop greats with a series of variant covers inspired by classic and contemporary hip-hop albums. The series features tributes to albums by Wu-Tang Clan, Notorious B.I.G., Ol‘ Dirty Bastard, A Tribe Called Quest, A$AP Rocky, Tyler the Creator, Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent, De La Soul, Dr. Dre, and Eric B. & Rakim. It’s the first batch, more than 50 covers are planned.
