Der aus Brooklyn stammende Fotograf Brian Kelley hat mit „Brooklyn Automotive“ eine ziemlich dope Sport-Serie eingefangen. In atmosphärischen schwarz/weiss Bildern zeigt der New Yorker hier, die pure Energie von Amerikas populärster Sportart – Football… und zwar, gänzlich abseits vom wahnsinnigen Medien-Zirkus rund um die Profi-Liga NFL. Als Protagonisten dienten ihm die Spieler des High School-Teams „The Automotive Pistons“ aus dem Big Apple, welche von Kelley während eines gesamten, regulären Spieltags begleitet wurden. Football is an honest game. It’s true to life. It’s a game about sharing. Football is a team game. So is life:
A game is preparing, all the players are in the bus driving them to the field, focused. The match is over, it doesn’t matter to know who won.
