Das POW! WOW! Street Art-Festival brachte in der Vergangenheit bereits etliche namenhafte Künstler in ins kalifornische Long Beach. In der Folge entstanden zahlreiche dope Artworks in der zweitgrößten Stadt des Großraum Los Angeles. Wir erinnern uns beispielsweise an Murals von TELMO MIEL, Dulk, Yoskay Yamamoto, Defer, Edwin Ushiro, Ernest Zacharevic, Evah Fan, Felipe Pantone, Gail Werner, Gary Musgrave, Hitozuki, James Molina, James Haunt, Jeff McMillan oder Sean Yoro aka The Hula. Ein absolutes sehenswertes Piece steuerte in diesem Jahr der lokale Künstler Nate Frizzell dem kalifornischen Street Art-Festival bei. Thematisch lässt der gute Mann die Protagonisten seiner Werke Felder wie Innere Wünsche, Suche nach Identität oder die ungezügelte Leidenschaft der Jugend beackern. Mensch und Tier, Natur und Stadtlandschaften kombiniert Frizzell in seinen Murals auf sehr spezielle Weise. Guckt doch mal – unser Mural des Tages, mindestens:

Who we are at work. How we act around friends and family. The way we speak to others. We are all of these and none of these, a revolving collection of faces. Of masks. These meditations inform the work of Nate Frizzell. Lovingly rendered through bold colors and powerful compositions, his stirring narratives pay tribute to primal emotions of the wild at heart. Juxtaposing man and beast, nature and urban landscapes, Nate’s subjects convey the quest for identity, the fire of innermost desires, and the unbridled passion of youth. They often portray faces hidden but emotions nakedly exposed.
