Der gebürtige New Yorker Fotograf Shaniqwa Jarvis, der unter anderem für diverse Kollaborationen mit Skateboarding-Label Supreme bekannt ist, liefert mit „Cars“ einen herrlich smooth daherkommenden Kurzfilm ab. Im Mittelpunkt des Clips stehen sowohl die Ästhetik klassischer Mid-Century Automobile sowie die Persönlichkeiten ihrer Besitzer. Geshootet wurde vor der traumhaften Kulisse von sunny Los Angeles in Kalifornien. Feinster Sound von William Onyeabor (Love Me Now), Pete Rock (The Boss) und Johnny Watson (Superman Lover) verpasst „Cars“ einen perfekt entspannten Anstrich. Lasst die Sonne rein, y’all:

Shaniqwa Jarvis presents a short film exploring the aesthetics of classic mid-century automobiles in this period short film set in sunny Los Angeles. Split into the format of three short stories, the New York native and frequent Supreme collaborator earnestly portrays the wide streets, green lawns and a deeply-embedded love of cars that defines the identity of the Californian city, in this self-described „ode to Los Angeles.“ Some of the personalities feature include UNION’s Chris Gibbs, Howard Nourmand and Victor Saldana.
