Long Live the Pimp // A Documentary on the Life and Legacy of Pimp C (Full Stream)
Der offiziellste, quasi der Erfinder des Big Pimpins im HipHop, die Inspiration für jeden Pimpslap in allen Raptexten der Welt, y’all know who it is: Pimp C. Hier ist eine herrliche Complex-Doku, die den Namen seines letzten Album trägt: „Long Live The Pimp“. 30 Minuten über das Leben von Chad Butler aka Pimp C (gefeatured). Zu Wort kommen u.a. Chinara Butler?, Mike Mo, Rico Wade, N.O. Joe, Bun B, DJ Paul, Nas, Mike „5000“ Watts, ein Doku von Marcus A. Clarke:
Pimp C’s voice was much-needed in the game, which made his death in 2007 all the more tragic. “The whole city cried that day,” says DJ DMD, producer and childhood friend of the rapper. “When you lose someone like Pimp C, you lose a cultural bulletproof vest,” adds Bun B. “You lose somebody that was actually willing to stand up and take the bullet for the culture, that was willing to be honest and say the things that maybe people were afraid to say or that people didn’t want to hear.” – Complex
