Run The Jewels droppen Video zu – „JU$T“ mit Pharrell Williams und Zack de la Rocha // Lyric Video
Als wenn das letzte Run The Jewels-Album „RTJ4“ nicht schon fantastique genug war, kommt jetzt auch noch ein uberherrliches Lyric-Video zu meinem Favo-Track des Albums heraus, nämlich „JU$T“ mit Pharrell Williams. Ich hab’s mir gerade 2x hintereinander angesehen, es handelt sich um ein Stop-Motion Visual vom Visual Artist Winston Hacking, der zum Entstehungsprozess folgendes zu erzählen hat:
„I worked closely with Run The Jewels to create a satirical time-capsule of 2020 thus far, capturing the sentiment of their song using collage animation. Drawing on the influence of Public Enemy’s classic ‘Shut ‘Em Down’ video, we combined cut up images from contemporary and historical events into a psychedelic protest vignette, a visual f**k you to systemic racism.“ – Winston Hacking
Darüber hinaus haben die fleißigen RTJ-Rapper Killer Mike und El-P jüngst bekannt gegeben, dass es eine Cannabis-Partnerschaft zwischen COOKIES und ihrer Schwester-Firma LEMONNADE geben wird, man arbeitet derzeit an einem eigenen Strain mit dem Namen „Ooh LaLa“. „This hybrid strain merges LEMONNADE’s sativa focus with RTJ’s indica appreciation to achieve the ideal hybrid strain. „Ooh LaLa“ flexes an aroma of spice cake and frosting plus flavor of sweet fruit cake with an herbal tea chaser, delivers a sensory-heightening head high and a light body feel.“ heisst es hierzu offiziell.
