Bisher hat sich Russ ja immer so einigermaßen zurückgehalten, was Features betrifft. Auf seinem neuen Album „Chomps 2“ ist allerdings so gut wie alles vertreten, was Rang & Namen hat. Wirklich geschmackvoll gepickt, lasst mich direkt namedroppen: Ransom, Papoose, Westside Gunn, Jadakiss, Styles P, The Game, Big K.R.I.T., Snoop Dogg, DJ Premier, Jay Electronica, Big Sean, Wale, Joey Bada$$, Hitboy, Ghostface Killah, Conway The Machine, CiHy The Prynce, Lloyd Banks und Mozzy sind mit dabei.
Und die Beats, die übrigens durchgehend sehr hart scheppern, kommen natürlich von Russ himself, dieses Mal mit Hilfe von DJ Premier, Hit-Boy, Alchemist, Hi-Tek, BINK!, Jake One, Statik Selektah, 9th Wonder, Mr. Porter und Harry Fraud. Also, dieses gesamte Werk ist so HipHop, macht gerade richtig Bock, Russ jetzt ohne Major Label, mehr Richtung Boombap und Rap, als alles noch geil war. Unser Mucke-Projekt des Tages, wenn nicht der Woche.
