Ach wie herrlich! Musikalisches Highlight meines gestrigen Abends: die „Shelley Show“ für die NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert-Reihe (feat). Und das in einer Shelley-Woche, ich kann jetzt schon verraten, dass es übermorgen noch einmal ein Feature geben wird, da veröffentlicht der gute Mann nämlich sein neues Album „Shelley“.
Ich bin Fan von DRAM (wie er ja bis neulich noch hiess) seit ewiger Zeit, seine Releases waren für mich immer etwas Besonderes. Großes Highlight natürlich einer seiner größten Songs, „The Lay Down„, auf jeden Fall in meiner Alltime Top 20-Liste (uns ja, auch diese Nummer gibt es in folgendem Video zu sehen, leider ohne H.E.R. und ohne das Gitarrensolo am Ende). Er ist bereits das zweite mal für Tiny Desk unterwegs und wer sich noch an den Auftritt vor 4 Jahren erinnert, der wird feststellen, dass Shelley fka DRAM künstlerisch noch einmal gewachsen ist und ey: ich hab‘ Bock auf das Album. Silk pajamas and slippers replace the trench coat and plush beanie, and thanks to lifestyle changes, he’s slimmed down quite a bit and goes by his government name now: Shelley.“
