„Stone Heroes“ – Super Heroes as Classical Sculptures in the Louvre by Léo Caillard
Unter Umständen erinnert Ihr Euch noch an die großartige „Hipsters in Stone“ Reihe von Alexis Persani & Léo Caillard. Antike Marmor-Skulpturen bekommen bereits seit 2012 höchst hipsteriöse Gewände in digitaler Nachbearbeitung von den beiden kreativen Franzosen verpasst. Für sein neustes Projekt „Stone Heroes“ ließ sich der Pariser Fotograf Caillard erneut vom klassischen Skulpturen-Handwerk inspirieren. Mittels Photoshop bringt der Künstler im aktuellen Fall, anstatt griechisch-römischer Gottheiten, moderne Superheroes in den Louvre. Wie sich der gute Mann seine Helden wie Iron Man, Flash, Batman, Spiderman oder Superman im weltberühmten Kunstmuseum seiner Heimatstadt vorstellt, lässt sich direkt hier unten erahnen. Leo Caillard puts a modern spin on classical sculpture in his latest series Stone Heroes. Placed side-by-side with traditional work, Caillard’s digital sculptures commemorate our current mythological heroes. Forget the famous thinkers and gods of old – this is the museum of the future. Iron Man, Flash, Batman, Spiderman, and Superman are all here, carefully Photoshopped into the Louvre’s collection as if they were historic icons. They gaze into the distance majestically, caught in serious thoughts of saving the world.
